Wild animals never kill for sport. Man is the only one to whom the torture and death of his fellow creatures is amusing in itself.-- James A. Froude (1818-1894)

I was pleasantly surprised to meet Mr. Anthony Sivabalan a/l Thanasayan, President of PetPositive and councillor from the Petaling Jaya City Council at SPCA's World Animal Day event today. He has invited me & all dog lovers and 'dog haters' to a forum to discuss dog ownership issues & problems arising from insensitivity, prejudice, lack of awareness and misunderstanding of both parties.

Date : 11 October (Sunday)
Time : 7.30am (registration begins) until 2pm
Venue : PJ Library (next to Assunta Hospital),Petaling Jaya
Keynote speaker : Dr Chandra Muzaffar

In order for a harmonious neighbourhood, pet owners need to know & carry out their responsibilities to the community such as ensuring their pets do not pooh everywhere (for example!). Dog haters need to know how to read the animal's behaviour and understand its reaction to certain situations - for example, if you see a dog & you raise your hand higher than its head, your intention maybe to give it a friendly pat on the head, but to a nervous dog, it is a sign of attack! The dog will react instinctively, to defend itself.

So, do turn up to listen, learn and contribute your views & offer solutions.
See u there!

Btw, I just visited the PetPositive group on Facebook & excitement is building-up to Oct 11 Dog Forum.
